As we hit the ground running in 2024, there is so much to share about what we're doing. We've already been to the Philadelphia Pen Show and we'll be heading to Vegas and New York in search of new things. Take note of all the happenings below!
FLAX 2024: the next chapter
At Flax, there’s a cadre of people working to provide the best cards, pens, stationery, journals, gifts and more available. Gabriela (“Gaby”) has been the steady personality on the front line of customer service for many years, having as much care for our clients as she does for the appearance of the store. Whether assisting with writing instruments, custom stationery or helping someone find the right card, Gaby does her best to please. Although Gaby started as a clerk, she’s been here longer and typically knows more about what we carry and have stored (and where!) than the rest of us, so when you ask, you should know Gaby knows of what she speaks. You can count on Gaby for straightforward information and direction to the right products for your needs.
We love and believe in Gaby and her quiet efficiency, so it may not come as a surprise that she’s been promoted to Manager. Congratulations, Gaby! We're proud of you and know you'll keep Flax in order.
We're on the lookout!
We’re hoping she’ll stay forever but while Gaby tends the store, we should be thinking about bringing in some new talent. If you think you’d like to be a part of our team, let’s explore the opportunity. Maybe something part-time, at least until Gaby gets to know or like you.
California here we come... oh wait, we're already here!

We're officially in show season and FLAX is gearing up for the California Pen show. Come out and see us and all the goodies we'll have there. Who knows, Wesley and Jean-Luc may even have a new sticker to show off! The show will be at its old location.

PLOTTER will be holding a pop-up event at FLAX Pen to Paper on 2/19 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. At the event, you can learn more about the PLOTTER system from the PLOTTER Japan and USA teams and attend a casual seminar about how to use PLOTTER in your daily routine. The PLOTTER team will also be bringing a limited quantity of Event Limited Refill Memo Pads, Limited Edition Foil Stamping Notepads and their leather binder customization service.

In case you were unable to go to the pen show or get to touch and feel all the Urushi pieces at the Pilot booth, we will have Bill from Pilot here from 11am - 5pm so you can test, feel and drool (please, not on the pens) over some of the finest writing instruments.

Gena from Custom Nib Studio is back!
Gena from Custom Nib Studio will be grinding and adjusting nibs! (Please note, Gena will not be doing repairs.) Gena is the creator behind the iconic Journaler Nib popularized by Esterbrook. Gena often has an 8 to 12-week wait for grinds but skip the wait and get yours at Flax! Of course, you should feel free to shop while waiting for your time with Gena.
